I love almond butter! It’s in a lot of my recipes and a staple in my home. This recipe makes about a 16 ounce mason jar full of almond butter. You can use this for 1 to 2 weeks it will last longer in the refrigerator. But I don’t recommend refrigerating it to keep the best consistency.
Serves 16
Ingredients
1cup raw almonds
1cup roasted almonds
Directions
In a food processor place roasted and then raw almonds into blender.
Keep it running! The first 3-5 minutes it will process and then become a big lump! Don’t be alarmed!
That lump will give up and process down to a smoother consistency! Once you’ve hit the approximate 10 minute mark you’ve got almond butter!
You can add cinnamon sugar towards the end for flavor or honey but make sure it’s the end. Add these to taste!
Tips
Spread 1 tbsp. on a banana as a snack as a balanced 200kcal snack
Sweet Pea Nutrition: almond butter is a good source of protein and it’s a great addition to your toddler’s meal plan. Mixing this with plain yogurt and cinnamon sugar is a great way to give them a balanced meal. If you’re on the go spread this between crackers and keep in a Ziploc bag it might get a little messy but it’s much better than eating snacks that won’t fill your toddler up If they’re hungry. At home as a snack I dip Annie’s graham cracker bunnies into it and call it “bunnies in dirt”!
