THIS WEEKS NUTRITION TIPS

Need some motivation? Here are my weekly tips!
  1. Adult Beverages: Say YES to White Claw hard seltzers! Just one or two sure gets a buzz on for me and at only 100 calories per serving and 2g of carbs I don't feel guilty about it. It's refreshing.
  2. Thinner Dinner: Need a quick meal idea without killing the calorie bank? Try warming up 3-4 turkey meatballs and throwing it over spaghetti with either fresh marinara sauce or a low sodium variety. Steam up some veggies on the side to complete this meal.
  3. Healthy Dessert: This week I have a lot of cake left over from my son's birthday party. I can't let it go to waste but I also don't feel great after eating a whole slice! Try halving or quartering a slice of cake and mashing it into yogurt followed by a sprinkle of fiber one cereal and some fresh berries. I for one love the surprise in every bite!

Tomatoes

Besides helping you fight diseases (COVID anyone?) Tomatoes are also a low calorie delicious flavoring agent to many dishes (like pasta).

Buy a large beefsteak tomato, cut into large slices and sprinkle some salt on top. Enjoy it with a sandwich, on a sandwich, after a sandwich, as a mid day snack with some cheese or throw them into a salad with feta.

Get outside!

Just a few minutes outside daily can improve your vitamin D levels! Why not utilize those minutes with a healthy meditation video? Even 5 minutes will help you breathe better. If you breathe better you think better. If you think better you eat better. If you eat better you sleep better.
