It really is a great substitute for takeout Chinese chicken! at 300kcal a serving you’re already saving a lot of calories. It took me WAY LESS TIME to make this than it would have taken to place a takeout order on seamless….just sayin.
Ingredients
- 2 lb chicken breast cut into 1/2″ pieces
- 1/2 c corn starch
- FOR THE SAUCE
- 1/3 c honey
- 6 garlic cloves minced (shortcut. Buy DOROT frozen garlic cubes)
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 4 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp water
Instructions
- Heat a large non-stick skillet on medium high heat. Add 1tbsp cooking oil and let it get hot. Toss the chicken in the corn starch and then add chicken to the pan.
- Let it cook a few minutes and turn on each side until it starts to brown
- Combine the sauce mixture in a mason jar and shake it up until all combined.
- Take chicken off the pan and add the sauce ingredients, use a little more water here if necessary. Stir well, turn up the heat and let it boil a little bit. It may take a few minutes for this to thicken. It thickens more when the chicken is added back.
- Once thick add the chicken back. Toss well and serve!
