Grocery Shopping Staples

I’m a big instacart shopper. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE grocery shopping. But not for staples.

Staples for me are items that just exist in my pantry and refrigerator so I can create magic all week long! A list of my staples are below. There are many other items I recommend but those aren’t considered staples for me. I literally go out to get those so I can pick the best quality.

I have a toddler, everything on this list he eats so this satisfies staples for kids as well.

Dairy:

Whole and Skim milk: Whole milk is best for splashing in my coffee and used for a creamier soup. I also like to use it to make yogurt!

Plain Greek Yogurt 0% and 1 full fat: I like Fage the best. I think any plain greek yogurt is best to increase your protein intake without the added sugars and stabilizers that fruited or flavored brings. For myself, I eat one every morning for breakfast on the weekdays and on Fridays I eat full fat!

Low fat cheddar cheese, thinly sliced (great for a quick grilled cheese)

Shredded sharp 2% cheddar and mozzarella cheese (used in eggs or if I want to bake a quick pasta dish with some cheese on top)

Protein:

Frozen Edamame

Tofu, firm or extra firm

Beans of some sort. 1 can and 1 bag of dried (depending on the week I like to be prepared if i’m in a rush)
